Something’s I’ve learned while being single

2025/1/22 Edited to

... Read moreMy single era has been one of the most transformative times of my life! I used to dread being single, but honestly, it’s taught me so much about myself and what truly makes me happy. It’s not just about waiting for someone; it’s about thriving right where you are. If you’re like me and want to truly enjoy this season of life, here are some things I've learned that have completely changed my perspective. One of the biggest lessons, as one of my favorite quotes says, is: 'Before you love someone else you need to love yourself.' This isn't just a pretty phrase; it's foundational. For me, this looked like prioritizing my mental and physical health. It meant discovering what brings me joy – whether it’s a new hobby, a solo trip, or just dedicating time to my skincare routine. It's about treating yourself with the same kindness and care you'd offer a best friend, because you deserve it! Building on self-love, I truly believe in the mantra: 'BE YOUR OWN BESTFRIEND.' This was a game-changer. It means learning to rely on yourself for happiness and support. I started planning 'date nights' with myself – trying new restaurants alone, going to the movies, or just enjoying a quiet evening at home with a good book. It's amazing how much you learn about your own preferences and desires when you're truly present with yourself. This self-sufficiency makes you incredibly strong and confident. There’s a powerful truth in the statement, 'When you learn to be alone that is all you will want to do.' Okay, maybe not all you want to do forever, but seriously, the peace and freedom that come with genuinely enjoying your own company are priceless. I've used this time to pursue passions I'd put on hold, travel solo to places I've always dreamed of, and really invest in my personal growth through reading and learning. It’s a time for deep introspection and discovering who you are outside of a relationship, without any external pressures. This next one is a huge one for my single ladies! 'NEVER GET IN A SITUATIONSHIP AS A LOVER GIRL.' Seriously, save yourself the heartache and confusion. I learned the hard way that these vague, undefined connections often leave you feeling undervalued and frustrated. My single era taught me to set clear boundaries, communicate my needs, and understand my worth. If someone isn't willing to commit or define what you are, it’s a clear sign to walk away and protect your peace. Focus on genuine connections or enjoy your independence instead of wasting emotional energy on something going nowhere. My single era has been a journey of incredible self-discovery and empowerment. It’s not about being lonely; it’s about being free to build the life you want, on your own terms. Embrace this time to love yourself fiercely, explore new horizons, and become the most amazing version of you. You truly can enjoy every moment!
