Do you rush yourself to “get over” things?

Rushing my healing never made me stronger; it only made me hide how much things affected me.

When I slowed down, I finally understood that healing isn’t supposed to be fast, it’s supposed to be real.

Now I move at my own pace instead of trying to meet some invisible deadline.

It’s quieter this way, but it feels right.

What’s something you’re learning to heal from without rushing yourself anymore?

... Read moreIt's common to feel pressured to rush through emotional pain and 'get over' difficult experiences quickly. Many people believe healing has a deadline, and if they're still affected after a certain time, it’s seen as a failure or weakness. This mindset can cause embarrassment and force individuals to suppress feelings instead of addressing them. In reality, healing is a unique journey that varies widely from person to person. Some wounds heal in days, others take months or longer, and that's perfectly normal. Giving yourself permission to take the time you need makes the healing process gentler and more authentic. Instead of forcing yourself to forget or move on prematurely, allow yourself to truly feel and process these emotions. When healing is rushed, it can lead to hiding the impact of experiences rather than confronting them. This may cause unresolved feelings to linger beneath the surface, affecting well-being over time. Slowing down allows you to understand your emotions better and build resilience without the noise of external pressures. Embracing a healing pace that feels right for you means rejecting invisible deadlines and societal expectations. It’s about prioritizing your mental and emotional health and recognizing that recovery is not linear. This approach leads to deeper self-awareness, acceptance, and a quieter, more peaceful state of mind. If you’re learning to heal from something, try to be kind to yourself and resist rushing the process. Celebrate small progress and acknowledge your feelings honestly. Healing isn’t a race—it’s a personal path to becoming stronger and more whole on your own terms.

I do because i'm always like ⚡️⚡️gasp a feeling ⚡️⚡️who authorized this?! 😭 All kidding aside, I know it's bad to rush myself to be okay even when i'm not okay, but i always do it.

No, I do not rush myself to get over things. I used to in the past, but I learned to truly get over something is to allow yourself to sit in the memories, the moment, the situation and really give yourself grace and time to process it out of your system.
