📝 I took a day tour from Palermo with Viator. I had an amazing time learning about the rich history of the area from a local guide. While I think it could be done on your own I definitely think the price was worth it to have someone else worry about the logistics for me and to have the local guide!
📝 I loved stopping in Cefalù for a few hours, it was a great spot for swimming with stunning views!
📍 Taormina
📝 Taormina is absolutely stunning! If you’re a fan of White Lotus this is a can’t miss stop while in Sicily! It makes for a great day trip! While I was there I took some time to visit Teatro Antico di Taormina which had incredible views! I also did a cooking class at Ristorante Pizzeria Porta Messina which was a lot of fun!
📝 Syracuse is another great place for a day trip. There is so much to see and do while there but, I highly recommend taking a boat cruise! I booked mine through Get Your Guide!
📝 Visiting Mt Etna was one of those moments that puts you in awe! The views are amazing and hiking up a volcano is such a fun memory. Keep in mind that it gets very cold and incredibly windy at the top! I wore leggings and a heavy hoodie and was mostly okay but I’d recommend wearing some kind of ear protection like ear muffs because the wind can be brutal!
