Let's talk protein first. A medium sweet potato (around 114 grams) typically contains about 2 grams of protein. While this isn't a huge amount, it's quality plant-based protein that contributes to your daily intake. It’s important to remember that a varied diet is key, and sweet potatoes contribute to the overall protein mosaic of your meals, complementing other protein sources beautifully. I often pair my baked sweet potato with some grilled fish or lentils to create a complete and satisfying meal! Now, for the calorie count – this is where it gets interesting and often misunderstood. A medium sweet potato usually ranges from 100 to 120 calories. This makes them a fantastic, nutrient-dense carbohydrate source.
