POV: your gingerbread house keeps falling apart
I don’t know if it’s just me, but whenever my gingerbread house keeps falling apart I make ginger snaps

One of the biggest reasons gingerbread houses fall apart is because the royal icing you use is too thin — it doesn't act as a strong glue to hold the pieces together. I found that using a thicker royal icing mixture makes a huge difference in structural stability. Make sure to whip the icing until it forms stiff peaks before assembling your house. In case your house breaks mid-way, don’t get discouraged! Carefully apply some thicker icing to the cracked parts and hold them together for a few minutes until set. Using small, lightweight decorations can also reduce the stress on the structure. From my messy attempts, I learned that patience is key: let each glued section dry completely before moving on to the next step. It might take longer, but your gingerbread house will stand strong for all to admire rather than crumbling. Also, keep your gingerbread house away from humid or warm places, as moisture can weaken your icing and make the walls soft. A cool, dry spot works best. Overall, thick royal icing, steady patience, fixing breaks promptly, and mindful decoration choices turned my gingerbread house-building from frustrating to fun!
