Ingredients:
1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box)
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
1 teaspoon coconut extract (optional, alcohol-free)
1 1/2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (or whipped cream)
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
Directions:
Bake the Cake:
Prepare and bake the chocolate cake according to package instructions in a 9x13-inch pan. Let it cool for about 10–15 minutes.
Poke the Cake:
Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
Prepare the Coconut Mixture:
In a bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, and alcohol-free coconut extract.
Soak the Cake:
Slowly pour the coconut mixture over the cake, making sure it seeps into all the holes.
Add Coconut Layer:
Sprinkle shredded coconut evenly over the cake.
Chill:
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the cake to absorb all the flavors.
Top & Decorate:
Spread whipped topping over the cake. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top.
Serve:
Slice and serve chilled for a rich, moist coconut-chocolate dessert.
