My life being a Single working mom of 3

I am 28 Working mom of three to a 13 year old, 7 year old, and 20month old and work so hard to make sure my kids have the best life. But also I struggle with wanting to be there more for big moments, games, etc that I can’t make because I am the main provider for my kids and have to work to ensure we have a roof over our head. But I have to remind myself that I am doing my best for my kids and I salut any single mom that is the main provider for their kids ❣️ #lifewithkids #lemon8challenge

... Read moreThat feeling of being torn between providing for your family and being truly present for those irreplaceable moments? It’s a daily battle for so many of us single mothers, especially when you're raising three children of different ages. I’m right there with you, navigating the beautiful chaos of motherhood with my own 13-year-old, 7-year-old, and a busy 20-month-old. The 'ups and downs' of this life are real. On one hand, there's the immense pride and responsibility of being the sole provider. Every early morning, every late night, every extra shift is for them – to ensure they have a stable home, good food, and opportunities I might not have had. But on the flip side, the guilt can be crushing. Missing my older boy's school events, the younger girl's dance recitals, or even just feeling too tired to fully engage with my toddler after a long day at work... those moments weigh heavily. It’s a constant struggle to balance a demanding career with the emotional and physical needs of three growing humans. This journey, being a single mother with three children, often feels like running a marathon while juggling flaming torches. Yet, amidst the exhaustion and the 'mom guilt,' there are incredible joys that fuel my spirit. It's in the unexpected hugs from my toddler, the insightful questions from my 7-year-old, and the mature conversations I can now have with my 13-year-old. These are the moments that remind me of the profound strength and love that define our family. Seeing them grow into kind, resilient individuals, knowing I’m the one building that foundation, is the greatest reward. It’s hard, but it’s also incredibly rewarding to be a strong single mother. For any other single mother out there, navigating similar waters, I’ve found a few strategies that help keep me afloat. Firstly, ruthless organization is key. My calendar is my lifeline for managing school schedules, appointments, and work commitments. I also try to carve out dedicated one-on-one time with each of my three children, even if it's just 15 minutes of reading before bed or helping with a specific project. It helps them feel seen and heard amidst the general busy-ness. Secondly, don't underestimate the power of a strong support system. Whether it's a trusted friend, family member, or an online community of fellow single parents, having people who understand and can offer a listening ear or practical help is invaluable. We can't do it all alone, and it's okay to ask for help. Finally, prioritizing self-care, however small, is non-negotiable. For me, it might be a quiet cup of coffee before the house wakes up, or a few minutes of meditation. These small acts recharge me enough to tackle another day. Being the main provider also means being smart about finances. Budgeting, looking for ways to save, and being financially savvy are essential to ensure stability for my three children. It’s not always glamorous, but it’s a crucial part of providing the best life I can. To every single mother doing her absolute best, especially those juggling multiple kids like an older boy, a younger girl, and a toddler, remember your strength. Your dedication and love are shaping incredible lives. You are seen, you are appreciated, and you are doing an amazing job. Keep reminding yourself that your best is more than enough.
