For a perfectly fluffy baked potato, I usually start by washing my potatoes (Russets are my go-to for their fluffy interior) and pricking them several times with a fork. Then, I rub them with a little olive oil and sprinkle with salt. You can bake them in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for about an hour, or until they're tender. If I'm really short on time, a quick zap in the microwave for 5-10 minutes (depending on size) followed by a short stint in the oven or air fryer can get them crispy on the outside. The key is that soft, steamy interior ready to soak up all the delicious toppings. Now for the best part: the toppings! This is where the "loaded" magic happens, and it's what makes these potatoes such a fun Friday night dinner. My absolute favorite combination includes classic shredded cheddar cheese, crispy bacon bits, a dollop of sour cream or Greek yogurt, and fresh chives. But the possibilities are endless!
