🔹 Principle of Double Syringe Technique
Use a 3-way stopcock between 2 syringes.
Equipment
• Syringe 1: Adenosine (6 mg or 12 mg)
• Syringe 2: Enter Normal saline 10-20 mL
• Connect to the IV line located near the antecubital vein (inner arm).
🔹 How to give drugs
1.Turn on the stopcock to match the syringe containing the drug.
→ Quick injection of Adenosine within 1-2 seconds
2.As soon as the injection runs out, turn the stopcock and push the saline against immediately.
→ To "chase the drug into the heart as fast as possible."
3. Continuous monitoring ECG

Because the active drug is too short - if given slowly, it will be broken down before reaching the heart → it will not work at all.
