I’m sick of the school i swear 😭

... Read moreAs a parent myself, especially in my early 30s, I truly understand the feeling of being overwhelmed by how much time and energy school demands. These days, schools expect parents to be deeply involved — whether it's frequent meetings, volunteering, or attending events — it can feel like a second job. The meme saying, "POV: you had a kid in your mid 30s & he's growing up in the 2020s," really hits home for many of us millennial parents. It’s a different world from what our own parents experienced. The level of engagement required feels nonstop. Personally, I find myself visiting the school almost every week, sometimes multiple times, just to stay on top of things or support my child. And unlike past generations, many of us balance this with careers and other responsibilities, amplifying the stress. What helps me cope is channeling humor and community connection. Sharing relatable moments with fellow #millennialparents or discussing #parentingbelike frustrations online creates a sense of solidarity. Plus, seeing things from the child’s perspective helps — understanding that the balance we seek is about giving our kids the best opportunities while maintaining our sanity. Ultimately, it’s about finding workable boundaries and self-care strategies. Taking breaks when possible, leaning on support networks, and remembering that perfection isn’t the goal helps manage the complex dance of modern parenting and school involvement. This evolving parenting journey, especially with #genalphakids, demands new kinds of adaptability, but it’s also full of meaningful moments worth all the effort.
