The best, most exhausting experience of my life
Participating in a pageant like Miss Utah is truly a test of endurance, commitment, and personal growth. From my own journey, I can tell you it’s not just about beauty or talent—it’s about resilience and managing every aspect of your life under pressure. The moment I signed off the Miss Utah stage as Miss Cottonwood, I felt a whirlwind of emotions. Exhaustion was definitely the main feeling, but it was accompanied by an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. Preparing for the competition demands rigorous physical and mental stamina. Daily rehearsals, practicing interview skills, and perfecting performances can drain you, but these challenges also teach you incredible discipline. One thing often overlooked is the sheer amount of behind-the-scenes work. Contestants must balance public appearances, community service, and constant self-promotion while maintaining a positive mindset. The experience truly builds confidence and time-management skills. From interacting with other contestants and judges to learning how to present yourself with poise under pressure, every day was a new lesson. The exhaustion after the event wasn’t just physical—it was emotional and mental, knowing that you gave it your all and connected with so many inspiring people. If you’re considering entering a pageant, be prepared for an intense but transformational ride. It teaches you about your limits and how to push past them, creating memories and friendships that last a lifetime. Being crowned or not, the real victory is in the journey itself.
