The Cutest Way to Eat Dot Cake
I decided to try Dot Cake Pops instead of a regular Dot Cake!
Ingredients
Chocolate cake
Vanilla cake
Cake pop sticks
White chocolate
Rainbow sprinkles
I started by baking a chocolate cake and a vanilla cake separately according to the package directions. After baking, I let both cakes cool completely before crumbling them into fine crumbs. Then I rolled each flavor into cake pop balls, keeping the chocolate and vanilla separate instead of mixing them together.
Next, I chilled the cake balls for about 15 minutes so they would hold their shape. After that I inserted the cake pop sticks dipped each one in melted white chocolate and finished them off with rainbow sprinkles for that fun Dot Cake look.
From start to finish, including baking, cooling, rolling, chilling, and decorating, the whole process took me about 2 to 3 hours.
The vanilla cake pops tasted sweet, soft and reminded me of classic birthday cake. They were good, but nothing too exciting.
The chocolate cake pops were definitely my favorite. They were richer, more moist and had a stronger chocolate flavor that made them feel more indulgent.
I enjoyed making these and would probably make them again for a party or special occasion. The chocolate cake pops were the winner for me.
