Nightly Scripture/Prayer
By drinking the Word of Life into our innermost being. Through the Word of Christ, His living water flows into our hearts in order to satisfy and renew us. In turn this Living Water wells up inside our heart, soul, and mind and flows from us to touch those around us.
Be Blessed 🙏🏾
I used to take the simple act of drinking water for granted, rushing through my day without much thought. But recently, I discovered how transforming a small prayer can be before I take that first sip. It’s more than just quenching physical thirst; it’s about connecting with something deeper, something truly life-giving. For me, it started with reflecting on that incredible scripture from John 4:14, which truly resonated: “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” This verse isn't just about physical water; it's about the 'living water' that Jesus offers – His Spirit, His Word, His everlasting love. When I pray before drinking, I'm not just blessing the water in my glass; I'm inviting that spiritual 'living water' to flow into my heart, soul, and mind. It’s an amazing feeling to pause and acknowledge God's provision, not just for the hydration my body needs, but for the spiritual nourishment my soul craves. I often find myself thanking Him for being the source of true refreshment, for satisfying parts of me that nothing else can. It's a moment to remember that just as water sustains my body, His presence sustains my spirit and ensures I 'shall never thirst' spiritually. This practice has made me feel so much more renewed and connected throughout my day. It's like each glass of water becomes a mini-baptism, a reminder of His constant grace. I've started asking for Him to make me a vessel, to let His 'living water' flow out of me to 'deliver good news' to those around me, just like a 'cool drink of water' on a hot day. It’s a prayer that I might introduce 'eternal love' and bring 'hope' to others, simply by allowing His goodness to work through me. It's a reminder that we are called to be channels of His blessing, offering spiritual refreshment to those who are parched. If you're looking for a simple yet profound way to deepen your faith and bring more mindfulness into your daily routine, I truly encourage you to try this. Before you drink, take a moment. You can say a simple prayer of thanks, or ask God to fill you with His 'living water' and use you to bless others. You might be surprised how this small act can transform your perspective and bring a sense of peace and purpose to your day. It’s a beautiful way to remember that we are constantly surrounded by His love and provision. This small habit helps me carry that feeling of being blessed and being a blessing throughout my day, turning an ordinary action into an extraordinary spiritual encounter.
