This nourishing hotpot spot in Paya Lebar had us drinking soup non-stop 👀🍲
We recently discovered Chao Ba Ba (潮八八现切鸡煲) and realised their hotpot style is quite different from the usual mala or heavier hotpot spots. Their soups lean more towards hearty, nourishing comfort food vibes instead, which honestly felt like the kind of meal you’d crave after a long day 🫶
Here’s what we tried:
✨ Fig Chicken Soup Pot with Organic Pineapple Chicken (Boneless) Half Chicken
The soup consists of fresh and dried figs, corn, papaya, red date and gojiberry 🍲 Once it started boiling, the sweetness from the figs really came through and the soup became naturally sweet and comforting 😭 Definitely one of those soups you keep sipping on non-stop.
It also came with a 4-tiered plate stack which looked pretty interesting 👀 The top 2 layers contained ingredients used to flavour the soup like corn and chicken parts, while the 3rd and 4th layers had the chicken breast and thigh slices. The staff helped to cook the chicken for around 10–15 seconds so the meat stayed tender and juicy
✨ Vege Platter
Great for balancing out all the meat we ordered 🥬
✨ Beef Meatball
Meaty, juicy and nicely chewy 👌
✨ Chicken Soft Bone
First time trying fried soft bone and the texture was super interesting 😮💨 Crispy batter on the outside with a chewy bite inside.
✨ Fresh Amla Juice
Slightly sour with a sweet aftertaste and really refreshing! The staff shared that it helps with detox and digestion too 😅
Definitely coming back to try their other soup bases next time, especially the Coconut Chicken Pot and Herbal Soup Base 👀

wah this is for chicken lovers!
