Weight loss tips, how I’ve lost 25lbs so far

While I still have a long way to go on my journey, I have been getting afew questions on how I’ve gotten to where I am so far. So I decided to give the tea👍.

I had to change my mindset about what I was really doing. Throughout my life, I focused on trying to lose weight, but the approach always left me feeling miserable and led to repeated failures. I realized that I was too fixated on the end goal and not enjoying the journey, which is the most vital part of the process. If you don't appreciate the lifestyle changes required for weight loss, progress becomes difficult to achieve.

Here's my first tip: fall in love with the process. Look at exercise as a stress reliever and a way to release energy. Consider healthy food choices not as restrictions, but as a way to make treats even more special when you do indulge. Additionally, understand that the process takes time. Although a calorie deficit has been crucial to my weight loss, I also focus on foods that make me feel full and happy throughout the day. Enjoying "junk food" every now and then won't undo any progress, as long as you maintain balance and control your portions.

As everyone will say, drinking water and getting enough sleep are essential for any health journey. Another thing that I don't see discussed often is having conversations with yourself about your goals, long and short term, and rewarding yourself upon reaching a goal, which has been a great motivation for me.

By rewarding yourself at each step, you keep motivation high. Personally, I reward myself by purchasing something I want after reaching a goal, or allowing myself a certain treat as a celebration. Since I can't get instant gratification from achieving my dream body overnight, I give myself that gratification through "prizes."

I hope these tips are helpful for those who are in a similar situation. Please feel free to leave any tips in the comments as well! Let me know if there is anything you would like to see from me. Thank you for all the support!

... Read moreIt's incredible to reflect on how far I've come, especially looking back at where I started at 241 lbs and seeing my current progress at 216 lbs. The journey from 241 to 216 lbs isn't just about the numbers on the scale; it’s about a complete transformation, both inside and out. For anyone else navigating their path, whether you’re at 216 pounds or aiming for a similar goal, remember that every pound lost is a testament to your dedication. Beyond the mental shifts, which are absolutely crucial, I've found that tracking my physical progress in tangible ways has been a massive motivator. This is where 'fat loss png' inspiration comes in handy! Taking regular progress photos, like those mirror selfies, has been instrumental for me. The scale doesn't always tell the whole story, and sometimes, seeing those subtle changes in my body composition in a 'before' photo compared to a 'now' photo can be more encouraging than any number. When you're consistently taking pictures – maybe weekly or bi-weekly – you start noticing how your clothes fit differently, how your posture improves, or how your muscles are becoming more defined, even if the scale is being stubborn. For example, I always try to take my mirror selfies in the same spot, with similar lighting and clothing. It makes it easier to compare and truly see the difference. There's nothing quite like seeing two images side-by-side to highlight how much progress you've made. It's like creating your own personal 'fat loss png' collage of your journey. These visual reminders are fantastic for boosting morale, especially on days when motivation wanes. They remind me of my starting point at 241 lbs and inspire me towards my ultimate goal of 180 lbs. Beyond photos, I've also found immense value in non-scale victories (NSVs). Maybe it's being able to climb stairs without getting winded, fitting into an old pair of jeans, or simply having more energy to play with my pets. These small wins, often reflected in how your body looks and feels, are just as important as the numbers on the scale. They signify true health improvements and lasting change. When it comes to the practical side of eating, while a calorie deficit is key, focusing on nutrient-dense, filling foods has made it sustainable. I've learned to love preparing meals with lean protein, lots of vegetables, and healthy fats. Instead of just cutting out foods, I focus on adding in nourishing options. And for exercise, finding activities I genuinely enjoy, whether it's walking, dancing, or light strength training, has transformed it from a chore into a rewarding part of my day. Remember, consistency beats intensity. Even short bursts of activity add up over time. Finally, don't be afraid to adjust your approach as you go. What works at the beginning might need tweaking as your body changes. Listen to your body, celebrate every milestone, and keep those 'before and after' visuals handy for a powerful boost. Your journey is unique, and every step, especially from 241 lbs to 216 lbs, is a huge accomplishment worth celebrating!
