“Shan State” only represents one identity. “Lanjao” represents a shared civilization, history and homeland stretching across the Tai world and the highlands of Myanmar. The name comes from the old Tai and multi ethnic kingdom of လၢၼ်ႉၸဝ်ႈ traditions and carries a deeper regional identity beyond
