French Bread Pizza
Easy to make, I made this without pizza sauce.
Instead I made a butter sauce, in a bowl I mixed in some melted butter, added a tablespoon of olive oil, italian seasoning, black pepper, and garlic salt. All of the measurements are up to you and the flavor you want to achieve. So season to your liking the butter sauce. Spread evenly and use whatever toppings and enjoy! Came out tasting like a cross between pizza and garlic bread...delicious.
To prevent sogginess when making French bread pizza, consider using a slightly toasted bread base before adding your toppings. This helps keep the crust crisp while baking. For a healthier twist, try using whole-grain French bread and load up with fresh veggies like bell peppers, mushrooms, spinach, and olives. Using a light brush of olive oil or butter sauce ensures the bread doesn't get soggy, and adding a bit of shredded mozzarella cheese creates a deliciously melty texture. When it comes to bake time, preheat your oven to about 375°F (190°C) and bake the pizza for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the edges are golden brown. This timing varies slightly based on your oven and toppings, so keep an eye on it. If you're looking for vegetarian options, you can easily customize the pizza by choosing from a variety of plant-based toppings or even incorporating different types of cheese like feta or goat cheese for added flavor. Remember, the key to a tasty French bread pizza is balancing the buttery base with your favorite toppings while keeping the bread crisp. Calorie-wise, French bread pizzas vary greatly depending on the toppings and cheese used, but choosing veggies and moderate amounts of cheese can keep it on the lighter side. Keep experimenting with ingredients and seasonings to create your perfect French bread pizza experience.
