Why I started journaling on my phone 📱

I have been journaling on and off (consistently) for 2 years now, and I have a 📝 paper notebook that I have been using since November of 2022.

Do I journal every single day? No.

But I really would like to get more consistent with my journaling.

That’s why I decided to try the Journal app that apple added a while back. I’m always on my phone, so maybe having it also at my finger tips will help me be more disciplined?

I downloaded this app 4 days ago, and so far I am in love!

📒Notes:

-It tracks how many entries you have, keeps them in order in an aesthetically pleasing fashion

-You can add as much text as you want to any entry, add pictures, go back and edit after posted

-It even has a little streak feature and I love that!

It is so much fun for me to look back on past thoughts, memories, feelings… it has really become something I enjoy about journaling.

I plan to use this along side my paper journal to keep an accurate account of my day to day life!

What are your favorite ways to journal your thoughts 💭, dreams, and memories?

... Read moreJournaling has gained popularity in the digital age, providing numerous benefits for mental health and creativity. Apps like the one I use offer a convenient way to document our thoughts and feelings. Embracing mobile journaling can lead to increased mindfulness and emotional clarity, allowing for easier access to past entries and reflections. In fact, studies show that regular journaling can reduce stress and improve mood by fostering a sense of control and self-awareness. The ability to customize entries—adding photos, editing, or even maintaining streaks—creates a more engaging experience compared to traditional pen-and-paper methods. This interactivity not only encourages consistency but also allows users to capture moments in real-time. Whether you're chronicling dreams, daily experiences, or creative ideas, a journaling app can inspire you to articulate your thoughts more eloquently. For those just starting, consider setting aside time each day or week dedicated to journaling. Don't be afraid to experiment with different styles, such as bullet journaling or gratitude journaling, to discover what resonates most with you. With the flexibility and accessibility that digital platforms provide, journaling can become an enjoyable part of your routine, enhancing both your creativity and emotional well-being.
