My walk into Christian Salvation
My Christian experience has been marked by a journey of salvation, spiritual growth, and an ongoing walk with Christ. I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ as my savior at a young age. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."Although, it wasn’t physically possible for me to participate actively in the church. Because of my ongoing medical conditions, I spent a large share of my time in hospitals. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” It wasn't until the past few years that I truly began to understand the depth of God's love and grace for me. Salvation for me highlights preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss. At only 10 years old, I had a hard lesson in loss. My precious arms and legs didn’t receive blood flow, turned black, and parts of them withered and died while still attached to my body. While many believed I wouldn’t make it, it was only through the Lord's healing hands of deliverance that assured my survival. Through various trials and challenges, I have seen God's faithfulness and provision in my life, shaping me into the person I am today and the person he intends me to become. “These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold.”, proclaims 1 Peter 1:7. While understanding the vulnerability we have in these human bodies, I also acknowledge the ability to one day not only survive but thrive. Through the Lord's hands, my body may be weak, but my spirit can soar like an eagle.
