What I needed to hear as a youngin
Swipe to see baby me 🧸—the only girl out of six and still somehow the first born daughter.
In so many cultures, daughters—especially eldest or only ones—carry unspoken expectations, emotional labor, and roles they never chose.
If I could go back and whisper to her, I’d say:
✨ You don’t have to be strong all the time.
✨ Your softness is not weakness.
✨ You are allowed to need, want, rest, and just be.
Therapy helped me rewrite that narrative—and now I help others do the same.
If you're healing the weight of being the “light,” the caretaker, the translator, the responsible one… I see you. You’re not alone.
