How I Combat Postpartum Hair Loss

I had the fullest head of hair before having my daughter and I was heartbroken when so much of it fell out after she was born! These are the things that helped give my hair a little boost and grow it back.

• Leave-in conditioner after washing hair

• Heat protection spray when styling hair or whenever it needs an extra boost

• Coconut oil a few hours before washing hair

• Hair growth serum every night + scalp massage

• Supplement to help your body get the vitamins it needs to grow healthy hair (helps with skin and nails too!)

• Wide tooth comb instead of a brush to be more gentle on hair when detangling or to help distribute any of these products throughout hair

Of course, this took trial and error to find out what works for me and this may not work for everyone, but I hope it can help send someone in the right direction for helping their hair become healthy again after the challenges of pregnancy and birth!

Most importantly, get all the rest you can and try to eat healthy and that will help immensely — not just with the hair loss but with feeling more like yourself in every aspect. 🤍

... Read morePostpartum hair loss can be distressing for many new mothers, but understanding the causes and implementing effective strategies can significantly help. Hair loss during this time is often due to hormonal changes; however, there are numerous interventions that can promote hair regrowth and improve overall hair health. One of the simplest and most effective methods is to use a leave-in conditioner, such as Garnier Fructis Leave-In Conditioning Cream, to maintain moisture and manageability. Adding a heat protection spray like Eva NYC Mane Magic can protect hair when styling, which is crucial as newly shed hair is often more vulnerable. Incorporating natural oils, like organic coconut oil, into your hair care routine can nourish the scalp and strengthen hair follicles. Massaging the scalp while applying hair growth serums can further enhance blood circulation and stimulate hair growth. Look for products containing active ingredients such as Redensyl or Procapil, which are scientifically shown to improve hair density. Diet plays a vital role in hair health as well. Supplements like Spring Valley Hair, Skin & Nails can provide the necessary vitamins and minerals, including biotin and collagen, to support hair restoration from the inside out. Lastly, utilizing a wide-tooth comb can minimize breakage while detangling, thereby helping to keep hair looking healthy. As you navigate through postpartum challenges, remember that a balanced diet, adequate rest, and proper hair care will significantly influence not just your hair's health but overall well-being as well.
