Is a society where hard work is rewarded really equal?
Is a society where hard work is rewarded really equal?
If you make an effort, your dream will come true.
I have lived by believing in this word.
I was a ronin while delivering newspapers, experienced the ice age of employment, went abroad, created a company, and experienced self-bankruptcy.
Even if I tried harder than anyone else, there were many times when things did not go as expected.
From that experience, I think that effort is important, but there are realities that cannot be explained by effort alone.
The time when I got a job.
The home environment.
economic situation.
opportunity to receive education.
There are many conditions in life that cannot be changed by oneself.
The Constitution of Japan stipulates "equality under the law."
This does not mean that everyone will get the same result, but rather aims to create a society where everyone has a fair opportunity to challenge themselves.
On the other hand, we often hear the word "self-responsibility" these days.
Of course, it is important to take responsibility for your actions.
However, can we really say that a society that makes the times and systems the responsibility of individuals is equal?
It wasn't until I was fifty two that I started learning about the constitution and rights.
Now that I'm an adult, things that were not deeply taught at school can be seen overlapping with my life.
There is no conflict between trying and knowing your rights.
Know your right to protect yourself and your loved ones while continuing to work hard.
I believe that a society that is truly easy to live in can only be achieved by having both.
I feel that way now because my life was full of failures.
