HOW TO WATCH TIKTOK DURING THE TIKTOK BAN

Los Angeles
2025/1/19 Edited to

... Read moreOkay, so the TikTok ban hit, and I know I wasn't the only one feeling a little lost! All those amazing videos, funny trends, and creators I loved following – it felt like a part of my daily routine just vanished. But I wasn't ready to give up that easily, and after some digging and experimenting, I found a reliable way to keep my TikTok feed alive and kicking. My go-to solution has been using a Virtual Private Network, or VPN. If you're not familiar, a VPN basically makes it look like you're accessing the internet from a different location, even if you're chilling at home on your MacBook Air. This is super handy because it bypasses those geographical restrictions. Here's a quick rundown of how I got set up: Choosing a VPN: There are tons of VPNs out there, free and paid. I started with a free one but quickly realized that paid versions offer better speed and more reliable connections, which is crucial for streaming videos. I'd recommend doing a bit of research based on reviews and your budget. Look for one with servers in countries where TikTok isn't banned. Downloading and Installing: Once I picked one, I downloaded their app onto my phone and my laptop. The installation process is usually straightforward – just follow the prompts. Connecting to a Server: This is the magic step! Open the VPN app and choose a server location where TikTok is fully operational. For me, connecting to a server in a European country or certain parts of Asia usually works perfectly. Once connected, your internet traffic is routed through that server, making it seem like you're browsing from there. Opening TikTok: After connecting, I just open my TikTok app as usual. Voila! My feed loads, and I can scroll through my 'For You' page, see my following accounts, and even repost or like videos without any issues. It's like the ban never happened! A Few Extra Tips from My Experience: Server Speed Matters: If your videos are buffering, try switching to a different server. Some servers are faster than others, especially during peak times. Keep it Updated: Make sure both your TikTok app and your VPN app are always updated to their latest versions. This helps with performance and security. Privacy First: While using a VPN, remember it's also a good idea to be mindful of your online privacy in general. Choose reputable VPN providers. Using a VPN has honestly been a lifesaver for me. I can still create content, engage with my community, and get my daily dose of entertainment. It's fantastic to still be able to see all the amazing videos and connect with creators, and even rack up some likes on my own posts. If you're missing TikTok, give this method a try – it might just be the solution you're looking for!
