Day 1 in KL~

... Read moreDuring my first day in Kuala Lumpur, I made it a point to dive into the local food scene, and a standout was definitely the 桂林猪肉粉 (Gui Lin pork noodles) at Kui Lum Noodle House. The broth was incredibly clean and sweet, packed with a variety of ingredients that brought the flavor to life. I found it impressive that one large bowl costing around RM 16 was enough to satisfy me and my toddler as well as my husband. Besides the pork noodles, I also tried other popular delights. The llao llao frozen yogurt with pistachio sauce caught my attention, especially since it surpassed my previous experience in Singapore with its creaminess and better fruit selection. It made for a refreshing treat after a hearty meal. Another memorable stop was Nam Heong Ipoh at 1 Utama mall, where the Hargao (shrimp dumplings) were juicy and flavorful, and even the char siew bao, which I ordered for my toddler, was a crowd-pleaser despite his picky appetite. To recharge, I visited HWC Coffee for an iced cafe latte – it was okay but nothing extraordinary. For those craving fried chicken, Kyochon Pavilion Bukit Bintang offers a tempting boneless chicken dish in red pepper and honey garlic flavors that hit the spot perfectly. Lastly, my husband and I shared a Snowy Coco Oreo Smoothie with pearls, which was just the right balance of sweetness without any added sugar, making it a satisfying and guilt-free dessert option. If you’re planning a food exploration in KL, these spots and dishes are fantastic introductions to the rich culinary offerings of the city. Each bite tells a story of local flavors and culinary craftsmanship – definitely worth remembering from Day 1!

Favourite way to travel from KL to Singapore
Recently we went back to SG for Mother’s Day celebration with our family! We personally don’t enjoy the 1h grab ride from KL to KLIA, & also needing to arrive 2h before flights 🙈 so for us the ETS train + Shuttle Tebrau is our favourite (& also more wallet friendly) way to travel from KL
