My favorite recovery breakfast.
I got sick for a day.. literally ONE day and surprisingly, I found some elderberries and was able to make syrup. I did not feel like make anything fancy hunny and this quick breakfast saved me. 😅 Sometimes, you just need to keep things simple for the morning. I will also try to post lunch and dinner recipes as well but like normal folks, I am usually on the go during the day. I focus on breakfast because it’s the most important meal of the day and also helps me fuel up. Breakfast will always set the tone for my day… and on this note, we’re gonna try to keep it light and low effort 🫶🏽#breakfast #simplerecipes
When you're under the weather, finding the right food that provides comfort and nourishment can be crucial. This breakfast, featuring turkey sausage, pickled onions, and a spinach omelet, balances protein, vitamins, and antioxidants, making it an excellent choice for recovery. Elderberries, as I discovered while sick, are rich in antioxidants and have been used for centuries in herbal medicine. Making elderberry syrup not only supports your immune system but also pairs beautifully with breakfast! This meal also incorporates fruits like blackberries, figs, and strawberries, which add natural sweetness and vital nutrients to kickstart your day. Berries are known for their high vitamin C content, aiding in your recovery process while keeping things light. Always remember, breakfast is the most important meal of the day; especially when you're recovering. Keeping it simple, nutritious, and delicious will help ensure you get the necessary energy to power through your day.
