Last day of May! Mermay drawing!

Participating in Mermay this year has been such a fun and inspiring experience for me. I love how this art challenge encourages creativity and imagination, pushing artists to design unique mermaid characters each day of May. This time, I was intrigued by a viral fake picture of a blue clownfish, which doesn’t exist in reality, but sparked my curiosity to reimagine it as a mermaid. While working on this piece, I decided to pair the blue clownfish mermaid with a more traditional clownfish mermaid, creating a playful contrast between fantasy and reality. Clownfish are fascinating creatures known for their bright orange and white stripes, so seeing them transformed into underwater mermaids adds a whimsical touch that’s perfect for Mermay themes.
