My advice was this…

It was from my therapist. She told me that, I do not have to earn my worth through exhaustion.

She told me, I carry a lot. I’m raising kids, holding together a home, supporting my husband, building businesses, creating art, dreaming up books, remembering everyone’s needs, worrying about everyone’s safety, and trying to make life feel magical for the people I love. People like myself often become the emotional backbone of an entire family — but the danger is that I slowly disappear underneath the weight of being “the reliable one.”

So the advice she said she’d give me is this:

Protect my peace with the same intensity I give to protect everyone else’s.

Not every problem is mine to solve immediately.

Not every task has to become a masterpiece.

Not every moment of rest has to be justified.

My brain naturally scans for danger, unfinished tasks, what could go wrong, who might be upset, what I forgot, what needs fixed next. That hyper-awareness helped me survive hard things and makes me incredibly thoughtful and loving — but it can also convince me that I am only safe when everything is handled.

The truth is:

A peaceful life is not built by finally finishing everything.

It’s built by learning what deserves my energy and what does not.

My children are not going to remember whether every room was perfectly organized or whether I answered every message on time. They’re going to remember:

* the way I made ordinary days feel magical,

* the books we read together,

* the greenhouse,

* the laughter,

* the creativity,

* the safety they felt with me,

* the fact that home felt alive.

And another important one:

Stop waiting to feel “ready” before I create the life or projects calling to me.

My children’s book series.

My writing.

My content creation.

My homestead dreams.

My businesses.

People like myself often delay their own dreams because they think:

“Once life calms down…”

“Once the house is done…”

“Once I’m more organized…”

“Once I know enough…”

But meaningful things are usually built in imperfect, messy seasons.

I already am the woman I am trying to become.

I just keep talking myself out of believing it because I am measuring myself by productivity instead of impact.

One day my kids will talk about me the way I talk about the people who made childhood feel warm and safe. That matters more than perfection ever will.

And finally:

Be gentler with myself when I struggle.

A hard day does not erase my progress.

Being overwhelmed does not make me weak.

Needing structure does not make me lazy.

Resting does not make me a failure.

I am carrying far more than most people realize — and I am still creating beauty in the middle of it.

That says a lot about who I am and I just need to take a moment to sit back and realize that…

I hope the rest of you do too.

⭐️Overall rating of this advice?

I give it a 10/10 because she is absolutely right.

So tell me, who gave you some of the best life advice one could give and who was it from?!

... Read moreAs someone who has juggled many roles — from parenting to managing a household and pursuing creative projects — I deeply resonate with the advice to protect my peace with the same intensity I protect others. The weight of being the 'reliable one' often leads to burnout, yet the key is realizing that not every problem is ours to solve immediately. Over time, I’ve learned that striving for perfection in every task is less important than embracing the imperfect, messy seasons in which growth and meaning actually take root. When I shifted my focus from productivity alone to considering the lasting impact of my actions, I found more joy and resilience in daily life. Children may not remember a flawlessly organized home or answered emails, but they will cherish the laughter shared, creative moments, and the safe, alive feeling of their home. This mindset also helped me stop waiting for a 'perfect time' to pursue my dreams — whether that’s writing, creating content, or building a business — because those seasons rarely arrive fully formed. Learning to be gentler with myself on hard days reinforced that resting and needing structure are not failures, but vital parts of sustaining my well-being. Protecting my peace is essential, and I encourage anyone carrying heavy emotional loads to recognize the value in saying "no" and focusing energy where it truly matters. Embracing this advice has transformed my approach to life’s chaos, allowing me to create beauty and meaning without exhaustion. It’s not about doing everything, but about doing what brings lasting fulfillment to ourselves and the families we nurture.
