My biggest career milestones in 5 yrs in marketing

I'm reflecting back on my 5 years in the corporate world and realizing my 3 major career milestones might be a little atypical...

1. Standing on my decision to never go back on remote work: In 2020 after transitioning to remote work during COVID, I made the decision to only pursue fully remote positions moving forward. Even throughout a rough job market, I’ve pushed through and not compromised on this lifestyle.

2. My first big girl job at $75,000: Right after graduation, I started my first “big girl job” as a Marketing Specialist at a SaaS startup. It was horrible, hated it, I was a generalist doing EVERYTHING, but $75,000 was the highest end of the range for a new grad in marketing. I was VERY proud of myself for starting at this baseline.

3. MY MOST RECENT LAYOFF. YES, LOL, something negative turned into one of the BEST transitions of my adult life. My new, healthy relationship with work, developed just over the past 4 months was a direct result of my layoff and the mental work I’ve done since then. Had I not left that company, I would still be overly attached to work and money like old me.
