Satan Isn’t Afraid of You
There are only two ways to go: away from God and closer to Satan, or away from Satan and closer to God. The closer we are to God, the more it terrifies the Enemy. That doesn’t mean that Satan won’t be there, hoping and waiting for us to turn away from God, and it certainly doesn’t mean that life will cease to have hardship. But it means our hardships and struggles in life will have a meaning and purpose to bring about good (even if we can’t see it on this side of heaven), instead of having the purpose of bringing about our destruction, which is the hardship that Satan wants for us.
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. (James 4:7–8a)
