... Read moreLiving with vulnerability and attachment issues can be a challenging emotional journey. From my experience, it's essential to recognize that people who seem distant or unresponsive are often not trying to hurt others intentionally. Instead, their nervous systems may interpret emotional pressure as a threat, triggering withdrawal as a survival mechanism. In my personal interactions, I've noticed that insisting on closeness too quickly can backfire. The more pressure applied, the deeper the retreat into silence and space. This is not a lack of love or care but a complex response shaped by past experiences where dependence was linked to danger. Understanding this helps maintain patience and compassion. Creating a safe space without punishment is crucial. When someone feels emotionally safe, they are more likely to open up at their own pace. This involves respecting their need for autonomy and space, even when it conflicts with our natural desire for connection. I've found that showing consistent support and allowing affection to be received on their terms fosters trust and makes gradual intimacy possible. It's also important to recognize that expressions of care might not look typical. Effort can manifest in subtle ways that are easy to misinterpret. I’ve learned to tune into these nuances rather than expecting conventional displays of emotion. Ultimately, those of us facing vulnerability and attachment struggles crave intimacy but also fear it simultaneously. Healing comes from mutual understanding, patience, and creating environments where emotional safety overrides the fear signals our nervous systems send. Trust builds slowly, and allowing space can empower a person to return and engage more deeply when they're ready.

As someone who grew up in and out of foster care I have always craved success! I refuse to be “another statistic” aka someone in the system who never amounts to anything. I will never forget the first time someone said this to me. “Oh you’re just another kid in the foster care system you’re just gu

This post definitely took some courage. This post is to remind you (and myself) that everyone’s story is different. You cannot imagine what it’s like to be in someone else’s shoes, just as they cannot imagine what it would be like to be in yours. You never know what someone is going throug

In a past life before my marriage and before my kids, I used to be a dancer and a cheerleader. I was ALWAYS active. I did so many things. But as I got older, that girl faded and was replaced by dating, college (nursing school of all things!) I started taking care of everyone else and completely neg

For a bit of context I am only 6 months postpartum so this is a shock. My husband and I had decided to trust the divine with whether or not we conceived at all and when. I had really been hoping I’d conceive in the winter but Jesus is trustworthy and I believe He does know what he’s doing. I’m sc

some of these bottles represent the last three-ish years of my life. not all of them. just some. they represent trying. failing. adjusting. starting over. they represent ptsd, anxiety, and depression rooted in something traumatic that happened to me as a child and followed me quietly into adulthood

I was formally diagnosed with ADD (attention deficit disorder) when I was around 10 years old, then as I grew older, at 18, was reevaluated and yep, ADHD! (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) Back then, as a kid, I was put on medication for it but remember being taken off for a few years.
