the hate I’ve gotten for trying to warn women of the risks (that I wish I’d known about before I got it) is wild lol. yes it’s absolutely so worth for some women - but def not for others. going into it knowing the risks is important and if I can convince even one person not to do it or to think about it more, then I’m happy 🫶🏻 if I could go back - I wouldn’t do it. I have a breast reduction surgery journey vlog up on my YouTube channel incase that helps! YT: callmesilvs

From my own journey and what I've seen shared by others, breast reduction surgery is not a decision to be taken lightly. While it can provide relief for women with truly debilitating back or neck pain caused by large breasts, it's important to understand that surgery also comes with its own set of risks, which are often downplayed. Many people don’t talk enough about the possibility of severe scarring. Some develop keloid or hypertrophic scars that can be painful or unsightly, and these issues can negatively affect your quality of life just like the symptoms that prompted the surgery. It’s crucial to weigh these risks carefully and consider whether the benefits truly outweigh them. Another point I've learned through talking with others is the importance of motivations behind the surgery. If your breasts do not cause significant physical problems and you are considering reduction primarily for cosmetic reasons, it may help to explore your feelings deeply first. Sometimes, conditions like body dysmorphia can influence our perceptions, and surgery might not bring the satisfaction you expect. Talking openly about these experiences and risks isn’t popular, as some people react negatively to warnings, but being informed can help prevent regret. I personally would not choose to undergo breast reduction again, and I recommend anyone interested to consult thoroughly with healthcare providers and consider mental health support if body image concerns are involved. Ultimately, breast reduction should be reserved for women whose large breasts significantly impair their daily life. For those women, the surgery can be life-changing and worth the risks. For others, awareness and cautious decision-making are key to avoiding unnecessary complications and dissatisfaction.
