Like Jonah, we are sometimes called to do hard things:
Forgive someone who hurt us.
Step into a new ministry or leadership role.
Share our faith with others.
Make difficult decisions that honor God.
Serve in places that stretch our comfort zones.
The good news is that when God calls us, He also equips us. He never asks us to walk alone. His strength is made perfect in our weakness, and His grace is sufficient for every assignment.

I recall a time when I was hesitant to step into a leadership role within my community. The fear of failing or being inadequate was overwhelming. However, by leaning into prayer and trusting that God would provide the necessary wisdom and strength, I was able to overcome my doubts.
Taking that step stretched my faith and comfort zone immensely. Just like Jonah, who initially ran away from God's call but later embraced his mission, I learned that the hardest tasks often lead to the greatest blessings. Forgiving someone who deeply hurt me was another significant challenge along this journey. It required me to release resentment and rely on God's grace to heal.
Serving where it’s uncomfortable or uncertain reminds me that God's strength is indeed made perfect in weakness. It's encouraging to know that when He calls us, He equips us; we are never left to face these challenges alone. This trust transformed my approach to fear and uncertainty—shifting them from barriers into opportunities for deeper faith.
For anyone feeling hesitant or overwhelmed by a difficult calling, I recommend reflecting on what God is gently nudging you toward right now. Ask yourself how you might step forward in faith, choosing obedience over fear. Remember, God's greatest blessings often lie just on the other side of these hard things. Prayer and community support can also be powerful allies in this journey, providing courage and encouragement to keep moving forward despite challenges.
