April Reads with Ratings

Another month down and more books added to my goal for the year!

I was a little disappointed in Where’s Molly. It was good but wasn’t quit what I was expecting. But overall was still good after reading Haunting Adeline.

Wild card was a fun way to round out the Rose Hill Series!

Older was a slightly different kind of read for me with the age gap and best friend’s dad. But overall it was good.

Then of course I had to reread Blood Wing Academy before I could read the new release of the 3rd book. Im glad I did. There were pieces that I had forgotten all about! I really enjoy this series so far and will definitely be continuing!

... Read moreReflecting on my April reading journey, I found the variety of genres and storylines kept me engaged and offered new perspectives. One highlight was diving into Briar Boleyn’s Blood Wing Academy series. Rereading the first book before the third installment was a smart move, as it refreshed key plot points and characters, intensifying my enjoyment of the new release. It reminded me how revisiting favorite series can deepen appreciation and reveal subtle details you may have missed on the first read. The Rose Hill Series’ Wild Card felt like a perfect conclusion, wrapping up the storylines in a satisfying way. This is a great example of how a well-crafted series finale can leave readers feeling fulfilled. If you enjoy romance mixed with drama and rich character development, this series is worth exploring. On a different note, Older by Jennifer Hartmann challenged my usual reading preferences, featuring an unconventional age gap romance involving a best friend's dad. While it was a fresh take and overall a good read, it made me reflect on how authors are pushing boundaries in romance novels, inviting readers to consider complex relationship dynamics. Though Where’s Molly did not fully meet my expectations after Haunting Adeline, it still held its own as a compelling story. Some readers may find the pacing or character development different from what they anticipated, but it’s worth giving a try if you like suspenseful, character-driven narratives. Overall, setting monthly reading goals keeps me motivated to explore diverse genres and authors like Elsie Silver and Briar Boleyn, who have been making waves with their engaging storytelling. Engaging with communities like #bookwormsoflemon8 and #booktok helps me discover new favorites and connect with fellow readers. If you’re looking to expand your reading list, I recommend checking out these titles and sharing your thoughts—there’s something special about swapping book experiences and recommendations that enrich the reading journey.
