my recent reads +ratings ✨
There's nothing quite like diving into a good book, especially when the weather warms up or you're just craving a heartwarming escape. Lately, my reading list has been packed with a mix of captivating stories, perfect for anyone looking for the best summer books or a really good romance. For me, a great summer book often means something that transports you, whether it's to a sun-drenched beach or a charming small town. I've found that lighthearted plots, vibrant settings, and a touch of escapism are key. While one book I read, featuring 'a new love, a secret sister, and a summer she'll never forget', ended up being a bit forgettable for me personally, it definitely fit that summer vibe initially. When I'm hunting for good books for summer, I often look for stories that I can easily pick up and put down between outdoor adventures or simply enjoy with a cool drink in hand. Think of tales that make you feel like you're on vacation, even if you’re just in your backyard. Then there are the 'lover books' and 'romance books' – a genre I can never get enough of! I adore a well-crafted love story, and my recent reads included some truly sweet and memorable ones, like 'Archer's Voice', which was just so heartwarming. And speaking of 'romantic' reads, 'The Sun Is Also a Star' by Nicola Yoon was a beautiful journey that delves deeper than just a simple love story, exploring fate and connection. I also enjoyed 'Everythining, Everything' by Nicola Yoon for its captivating narrative. Sometimes I crave 'romance funny books' that bring a smile to my face alongside the butterflies. It’s all about finding that perfect blend of emotion and entertainment. Many of you might be searching for 'books like One Italian Summer' or 'books similar to One Italian Summer', and I totally get it. That unique blend of travel, self-discovery, and perhaps a touch of family mystery is incredibly appealing. If you love that sort of story, I'd suggest looking for books with rich European settings, themes of second chances, or protagonists who are unraveling personal histories while on a journey. While I didn't read one exactly like it this time, the spirit of exploring new places and finding yourself is something I always appreciate in a novel. And then there are those books that just stick with you, like 'Elsewhere' by Gabrielle Zevin. The OCR mentioned its 'fresh and arresting premise,' and I found it to be a truly unique experience. It's the kind of book that makes you ponder long after you've turned the last page. Another extremely eye-opening read was 'I'm Glad My Mom Died' by Jennette McCurdy – a powerful memoir that really makes you reflect, showing the breadth of what a 'recent read' can encompass. Finding your next read can be an adventure in itself! I often look for recommendations from other bookworms or browse lists of 'best summer books' to see what's trending. What are some of your favorite summer or romance books you've read lately? I'm always looking to expand my TBR (To Be Read) pile!
