100 rows of Crochet

I’m finally seeing the end in sight.

• 100 rows

• 15 skeins

• cramped hands

• pure joy

•excited

I’ve been working on this blanket for over 3 weekend now, of course, crocheting in spare time in between working, being a mom, and a wife.

This is not my pattern, but I sure do love it.

Thinking about making some pillows that match.

... Read moreCrocheting a large blanket with 100 rows and 15 skeins is both a rewarding and challenging project, especially when balancing it alongside work, family, and other responsibilities. Many crochet enthusiasts find that setting small, manageable goals each day—such as completing a few rows—helps maintain progress without feeling overwhelmed. Hand cramps are a common hurdle in longer crochet sessions; it’s beneficial to take regular breaks, stretch your hands and wrists, and consider ergonomic hooks that reduce strain. Choosing the right yarn is another important factor. The amount of 15 skeins indicates a sizable and cozy blanket, so selecting soft, durable yarn that fits your style and climate ensures both comfort and longevity. Color coordination, like the author’s use of white, blue, and orange tones, adds vibrancy and can even inspire complementary projects such as matching pillows. These pillows can use leftover yarn or a similar pattern to create a cohesive look in your home. Managing crochet projects alongside mom life and work requires flexibility and realistic expectations. Setting aside dedicated crochet time in the evenings or on weekends, like the author’s multi-weekend efforts, supports steady advancement. Joining online crochet communities, using hashtags like #cozynightscrochet and #crochet, provides valuable inspiration, support, and sharing opportunities. Ultimately, taking joy in the creative process—despite cramped hands or long hours—is what makes handmade crochet projects special. Whether you are following a pattern or adapting ideas to make your own unique items, each stitch weaves a story of creativity and care that can brighten any home.
