Homemade Vanilla Bean Syrup ✨
✨Vanilla Bean Syrup Recipe✨
Hi guys!! Here’s another easy 3-ingredient syrup I love to make—perfect for coffee, tea, and (my personal favorite) matcha! Hope you love it as much as I do!! 🤍🍵✨
Ingredients:
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup granulated sugar or brown sugar
• 1 vanilla bean
Instructions:
1. Split the vanilla bean:
• Use a sharp knife to slice the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with the knife.
2. Combine ingredients:
• In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, vanilla bean seeds, and the bean pod.
3. Heat gently:
• Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves (about 5 minutes).
• Do not let it boil vigorously—just a light simmer.
4. Infuse:
• Remove from heat.
• Let the vanilla bean steep in the syrup for at least 30 minutes for full flavor (or up to an hour for stronger infusion).
5. Strain & store:
• Strain out the vanilla pod and any large seed clumps if desired (you can leave the seeds in for aesthetic and flavor reasons).
• Pour into a clean cute glass jar or bottle.
6. Cool & refrigerate:
• Allow to cool completely before sealing.
• Store in the fridge for up to 2–3weeks.
💡 Tips:
• If you don’t have vanilla beans, substitute with 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste or 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract (added after the syrup cools).
• Shake or stir before each use if seeds settle.
Vanilla bean syrup is a versatile addition to your kitchen, providing a rich, aromatic flavor that elevates various beverages and desserts. Ideal for sweetening drinks, this syrup can be drizzled over pancakes, waffles, or used in homemade whipped cream. To make the process even easier, you can substitute vanilla beans with vanilla bean paste or extract based on availability, allowing for a time-saving yet still flavorful outcome. When preparing the syrup, remember to observe the gentle simmer quite carefully; boiling can compromise the subtle flavors you aim to achieve. Moreover, allowing the vanilla bean to steep longer enhances the taste further, so feel free to experiment with steeping times. For some added fun, consider infusing your vanilla syrup with spices like cinnamon or nutmeg, offering different flavor profiles for various occasions. Whether you are an experienced cook or a beginner in the kitchen, this homemade vanilla bean syrup recipe promises easy preparation and gourmet results. Store it in a cute glass jar, and it also makes a thoughtful homemade gift that friends and family will surely appreciate!
