When you know you’re loved
It’s time for some real talk ladies!!!
Sometimes the hardest relationship feelings aren’t about questioning whether someone loves you.
You know they love you.
They tell you. They reassure you. They show you in the ways they know how.
And yet… something still feels missing.
Maybe what you’re craving isn’t more words.
Maybe you’re craving intentional time.
You don’t need your partner to give up their friends, hobbies, alone time, or the things that make them happy. Healthy relationships need independence, too.
But there is a difference between having a life outside of your relationship and making your relationship feel like whatever is left over after everything else.
Especially in a long-distance relationship, time together doesn’t happen naturally. There aren’t spontaneous dinners, cuddling on the couch, running errands together, or simply existing in the same room.
So when the little windows of connection keep disappearing, it can start to hurt.
You may find yourself thinking:
“Where do I fit?”
“When do we get our time?”
“Am I asking for too much?”
And sometimes, instead of asking for what you need, you start making yourself smaller.
You stop sending the exciting text.
You don’t mention the thing you were looking forward to sharing.
You tell yourself, “They’re busy. It’s fine.”
You stop reaching because you’re afraid that reaching too often will push them away.
And eventually, you may start pulling away—not because you love them less, but because you’re tired of feeling disappointed.
That’s an important distinction.
You can understand that your partner needs friends and independence and still need more connection.
You can trust that they love you and still want to feel prioritized.
You can support their life outside the relationship and still want intentional space for your relationship.
Love isn’t supposed to be a competition between your partner and their friends.
The question isn’t:
“Who gets more of their time?”
It’s:
“Does our relationship have intentional space, too?”
Sometimes the healthiest conversation isn’t “Why do you always choose them?”
It’s:
“I don’t need you to give up the things you love. I just need us to intentionally make room for the things we love together.”
Because being loved and feeling loved aren’t always the same thing.
And if you’re constantly having to remind yourself that you’re loved because you’re not actually experiencing enough connection, that feeling deserves to be talked about—not dismissed.
You aren’t needy for wanting quality time.
You aren’t controlling for wanting to feel chosen.
You aren’t asking for too much because you want your relationship to have a place in your partner’s actual life.
Sometimes love needs more than reassurance.
Sometimes it needs time, presence, consistency, and intention. ❤️
And sometimes the most important question isn’t:
“Do they love me?”
It’s:
“What do we need to do so that we both feel loved?”
