It may have been “just a cat,”
but for me, it was 16 years of memories.
Of presence.
Of unwavering comfort.
And even though I’ve faced my share of losses—
far too many for one lifetime—
it never gets easier.
If anything, it gets heavier.
Like each grief stirs up the ones before it,
stacking silently, slowly,
until it feels like too much.
Right now, I feel it.
That old shadow of depression,
the one that followed me for years,
lurking nearby in moments like this.
Waiting for me to pretend I’m fine.
Waiting for me to break.
But I won’t give it the space.
Not this time.
Because I’m doing my best to walk the talk.
To truly live what I share with you through Célean.
