🍯🔥 Sticky Hot Honey Garlic Chicken
Ingredients
Chicken
* 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs
* 1 tbsp olive oil
* 1 tbsp garlic powder
* 1 tbsp onion powder
* 1 tsp paprika
* 1 tbsp cornstarch
* 1 tsp salt
* 1/2 tsp black pepper
Sticky Hot Honey Garlic Sauce
* 4 tbsp butter
* 1 tbsp minced garlic
* 2 tbsp soy sauce
* 1/2 cup honey
* 1 tbsp Sriracha
* 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
1️⃣ Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine chicken thighs with:
* Olive oil
* Garlic powder
* Onion powder
* Paprika
* Cornstarch
* Salt
* Black pepper
Mix well until evenly coated.
Let marinate for at least 15–30 minutes.
2️⃣ Air Fry
Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
Arrange chicken in a single layer.
Air fry for 16–20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
3️⃣ Make the Sticky Sauce
In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter.
Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Stir in:
* Soy sauce
* Honey
* Sriracha
* Red pepper flakes
Simmer for 5–8 minutes until thick, glossy, and sticky.
4️⃣ Coat the Chicken
Add cooked chicken to the sauce.
Toss until every piece is fully coated.
5️⃣ Extra Sticky Finish
Return coated chicken to the air fryer at 400°F (204°C) for 2–3 minutes.
This helps caramelize the glaze and creates that irresistible sticky finish.
6️⃣ Serve
Serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or your favorite side
I recently tried making this Sticky Hot Honey Garlic Chicken, and it quickly became a favorite in my household. The combination of garlic, paprika, and spices married beautifully with the sweet and spicy hot honey glaze, creating layers of flavor in every bite. Marinating the chicken for at least 30 minutes made a huge difference, allowing the spices to fully penetrate and tenderize the meat. Using an air fryer means the chicken cooks evenly and comes out golden and crispy without the excess oil, making it a healthier alternative to traditional frying. I especially loved the final step of putting the glazed chicken back in the air fryer at a higher temperature—it really caramelized the honey and gave the chicken a glossy, sticky coating that was irresistible. For sides, I preferred serving it with fluffy mashed potatoes, which balanced the spicy sweetness of the chicken wonderfully. However, rice is also an excellent option if you want to soak up the extra sauce. Adding red pepper flakes in the sauce gave a nice heat kick but was easily adjustable if you prefer milder flavors. A tip for those who want to make this a meal for more people: you can double the ingredients and cook the chicken in batches in the air fryer to maintain crispiness. Also, experimenting with leftover sauce as a glaze for roasted vegetables or as a dipping sauce adds extra enjoyment. This recipe is perfect for easy weeknight dinners or when you want to impress guests with minimal effort.
