「水堂神社ってどんなところ？」と調べて行く人向けに、私が実際に回ってみて良かったポイントを追記します。 まず、水堂須佐男神社（通称：水堂神社）は“御朱印”のイメージが強いけれど、目的を天井画に置いて行っても大満足でした。拝殿に入ると、目線の先に広がるのが天井絵『万葉の花』。青と緑を基調にした色合いが涼やかで、中央の円形デザイン（銅鏡や刀剣など古墳副葬品をイメージしたモチーフ）を囲むように、花柄の正方形パネルが並んでいます。近くで見ると筆致や配色が本当に細かくて、写真では伝わりきらない立体感がありました。 個人的に良かったのは「椅子に座って眺められる」こと。天井画って首が疲れがちですが、ここは落ち着いて鑑賞できて、万葉集に詠まれた草花（椿・かきつばた・桔梗・おみなえし等）を一つずつ探す“絵探し”みたいな楽しみ方ができます。静かな時間帯だと、さらに没入感が増しました。 次に見逃せないのが花手水舎。カラフルな和傘がずらっと飾られていて、季節の花（青や紫、緑系の装飾が多めで爽やか）との組み合わせがとにかく華やか。水面に光が反射して、同じ場所でも角度を変えるだけで写真の雰囲気が変わりました。魚の形の水栓も可愛くて、つい近くで撮りたくなります。 当日の動き方のおすすめは、①参拝→②拝殿で天井画を鑑賞（先に席を確保してゆっくり）→③花手水舎で撮影→④授与所が開いている時間に御朱印、の順。授与所は平日13:00〜、土日祝10:00〜なので、御朱印目当ての人は時間を合わせるのが安心です。 アクセスはJR神戸線「立花駅」北口から徒歩圏内。駐車場は台数が少なめなので、混みそうな日は公共交通の方がスムーズでした。拝観無料でここまで見どころが多い神社は貴重なので、「水堂神社」で検索して気になった方は、ぜひ天井画と花手水の両方をセットで楽しんでみてください。
