Officially starting a support group for us short girlies who have the desire to hike but struggle with their little legs😅🫶🏽 #shortgirlproblems #joshuatree #latinahikers
As someone who is on the shorter side, I completely relate to the struggle of hiking with little legs. It can sometimes feel like you have to work twice as hard to keep up, especially on steep trails like those in Joshua Tree. But I've found that being part of a supportive group for short hikers makes a huge difference. One thing that helped me a lot was focusing on my unique strengths, like agility and endurance, rather than comparing myself to taller hikers. Dressing in lightweight, comfortable gear also made long hikes more enjoyable. I also started using trekking poles, which helped with stability and made conserving energy easier. I love how communities centered around #shortgirlproblems and #latinahikers create solidarity and provide practical advice for overcoming hiking challenges. Encouragement from fellow short girls who embrace their legs — even when the going gets tough — makes every trail doable and more fun. If you’re short and love hiking, don’t be discouraged by your stature. Instead, celebrate it and connect with others who share your passion and challenges. Remember, hiking isn’t about leg length — it’s about the adventure, the views, and the joy of being out in nature.
