Located within the Eco Botanic enclave, surrounded by a cluster of established dining spots, Temper at Eco Botanic brings its signature open-fire philosophy into the neighbourhood.
•
Upon entering, the towering cow sculpture immediately commands attention. The first floor is dressed in natural stone textures and muted earthy tones, with the open grill taking centre stage and setting the rhythm of the space.
•
Head upstairs and the atmosphere shifts. The second floor feels noticeably quieter and more intimate, with softer lighting, comfortable seating, and a more secluded layout suited for small gatherings or celebratory meals.
•
We were treated to a generous spread across the menu.

Starters
- Grill Caesar Salad
- Nasu on the Flame
- Camembert Cheese Fried
•
From the Sea & Fire
- Golden Pomfret
- Mr. Sotong Japan

The Golden Pomfret stood out for its beautifully fire-charred skin and natural sweetness from its freshness.
•
From the Grill
- Black Angus Tenderloin
- Ribeye
- Dry Aged Organic Chicken
- Danggui Lamb Burger
While the beef cuts impressed, the Danggui Lamb Burger was an unexpected highlight. Aromatic yet balanced, it avoids any zi char heaviness, with lamb that is remarkably tender and clean-tasting.
•
Carbs
* Wagyu Claypot Rice
* Truffle Mushroom Pasta
* Miso Seafood Pasta
The clear winner here is the Wagyu Claypot Rice. Finished with bone marrow and a beef patty, then mixed through crisped rice, it delivers layers of aroma, richness, and texture in every bite.

An overwhelming spread, in the best way. Thanks for the warm hospitality and a confidently executed menu make this a place worth returning to.
If you're looking to fully enjoy your visit to Temper Eco Botanic JB, consider starting with their unique appetizers like the Nasu on the Flame and Camembert Cheese Fried, which set a perfect tone for what's to come. The grilling technique here really enhances the natural flavors of ingredients, especially in their seafood options like the golden pomfret and Mr. Sotong Japan — both deliver a delicate char and freshness that seafood lovers will appreciate. The restaurant's atmosphere shifts beautifully between floors; the first floor buzzes with energy around the open grill, making it a great spot for those who enjoy an immersive dining experience. Meanwhile, the second floor offers a cozy, quieter environment ideal for special celebrations or intimate meals. Don't miss trying the Danggui Lamb Burger — it’s refreshingly light compared to traditional heavy fare, highlighting lamb’s tenderness without overwhelming the palate. For carb lovers, the Wagyu Claypot Rice is a must-try thanks to its layers of bone marrow flavor, crispy textures, and juicy beef patty. Overall, Temper Eco Botanic JB delivers quality steakhouse staples with a distinctive wood-fired twist. The warm hospitality and well-curated menu made me want to return soon. It’s a great choice for anyone craving a sophisticated yet hearty barbecue experience in the Iskandar Puteri area.
