Toronto Library is celebrating Freedom To Read

I'm glad that the Toronto Public Library is being so vocal about the freedom to read, especially in the wake of all the mass book bannings that are happening in the US right now targeting marginalized voices including mine; my book SCARS keeps getting repeatedly banned. But we need voices marginalized voices speaking out, and helping us know that we're not alone in our pain or in our experiences. So I'm really happy about this. There are three different styles of bags and also library cards. The library card is free; you just have to exchange it for your old one, which does mean that the number will change but to me that's a small thing to do to have a card that says that you believe in the freedom to read. The bags are cloth and sturdy; they're five dollars each. I love what they say and I'm so proud of the Toronto Public Library. I'm so glad that they are doing this. There are also programs that you can attend all this week, discussions about banned books, there's books swaps, and so much more; I hope you'll check it out. #freedomtoread #bannedbooks #booktok #queerauthor #torontopubliclibrary
