RN but cute😉 Drop your photo👇🏼
When I first started my nursing career I was so conditioned by nursing school to have; no painted nails, wear bland loose fitting scrubs, hair pulled back. I never wanted to express myself through my outfits or work gear in fear of being judged by senior nurses. Not all RN jobs require strict attire /hair nails etc. and…NOBODY CARES! The more fun stuff we see throughout the day the BETTER! Because this career can get tiring quickly, better to show up as yourself, and not worry about what others think. As long as you are a caring professional that is willing to help at all times, that’s all we care about 😉💚 Drop a photo of your fave nurse gear that you don’t care what people think!

It's so true what we discussed earlier – breaking free from the old-school nursing stereotypes can be incredibly empowering! When I first started, I felt like I had to blend in, but I soon realized that expressing a little bit of my personality through my nurse gear actually made my long shifts feel a little brighter. If you're wondering how to start adding your own flair without compromising professionalism or comfort, here are a few ideas that worked for me and many of my colleagues. First, think about your accessories. Your badge reel is a fantastic canvas for personality – there are so many cute and quirky designs out there, from subtle green flower charms to fun bunny keychains. I love seeing how my coworkers personalize theirs! Then there's the unsung hero of a nurse's day: the lunch bag and water bottle. Why settle for bland when you can have something that sparks joy? I mean, who wouldn't want a stylish light green lunch bag or a sleek Hydro Flask mug to keep their coffee hot or water cold all shift? It's a small detail, but it makes a difference. Even my hand sanitizer holder has a little character now! These items are purely for personal use and don't interfere with patient care, making them perfect for showing off your style. Next, consider your scrubs. While some places are strict, many allow for a bit more flexibility these days. Look for scrubs in fun colors (if permitted), or ones with subtle patterns or unique cuts that still meet hospital standards but feel more 'you.' Comfort is still key, of course, but you don't have to sacrifice style entirely. A well-fitting, comfortable scrub set in a flattering color can do wonders for your mood and confidence. Finally, don't forget about your trusty tote bag. A good quality, stylish black tote bag can carry all your essentials for a long shift and still look chic. It's another opportunity to choose something that reflects your taste without being unprofessional. Remember, being a great nurse isn't about perfectly plain nails or the most boring scrubs. It's about compassion, skill, and dedication. When you feel good about yourself, it often translates into more positive energy for your patients and colleagues. So go ahead, embrace that 'RN But Trendy' mindset! Share what makes your nurse gear uniquely yours – let's inspire each other to bring a little more joy and personality to our demanding but incredibly rewarding profession.
