Pain Isn’t Normal

Pain isn’t normal. I wish somebody told me sooner.

For so long I pushed through symptoms, ignored my body, and normalized struggles I should’ve never carried alone.

Fibroids took over years of my life because I kept telling myself, “maybe this is just how it is.”

But it wasn’t.

And the moment I realized that… everything changed.

This journey taught me to listen to myself, advocate for myself, and stand on my truth.

That’s why Chiq Talk is coming — so another woman doesn’t have to wait as long as I did to be heard. 💛

... Read moreMany women face the challenge of dealing with chronic pain and symptoms that are often dismissed or accepted as normal, especially when it comes to fibroids. These noncancerous growths in the uterus can cause a range of symptoms including heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and fatigue, but because these symptoms can be subtle or gradual, many women inadvertently normalize them and delay seeking help. Understanding that "pain isn't normal" is a critical step toward better health outcomes. Fibroids are common, affecting up to 70% of women by age 50, yet awareness is still lacking, and many hesitate to discuss their symptoms due to stigma or misinformation. Recognizing symptoms early, such as persistent pelvic pain or abnormal bleeding, can prompt timely medical evaluation and personalized treatment options. Advocacy plays a vital role in navigating fibroid diagnosis and management. It’s important to listen to your body, keep detailed symptom records, and communicate openly with healthcare providers. Treatment choices can range from medication to minimally invasive procedures or surgery, depending on severity and individual needs. Support communities and resources like #FibroidAwareness and #WomensHealth provide valuable information and emotional support for those on their healing journeys. Platforms that encourage sharing of authentic experiences can empower women to break the silence, challenge normalized pain, and embrace self-advocacy. Remember, accepting pain as "normal" should never be a default. By elevating awareness and encouraging honest conversations, women can find the help they deserve and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives after fibroid diagnosis and treatment.
