My original post was just the start, but I wanted to dive deeper into what this method actually entails and how I'm incorporating it to tackle my dry, thin, non-growing strands. The core of Abbey Young's approach really focuses on creating the ideal environment for hair growth and minimizing damage. It's not just about slapping on a product; it's a holistic routine. Here's how I'm breaking it down, step by step, to get that healthy, long hair: 1. Pre-Wash & Scalp Care: This is crucial! Before shampoo, I've started using a scalp oil or a weightless hydrating oil mist. This helps loosen up any product buildup and nourish the scalp, which is where all the magic happens for growth. I gently massage it in for a few minutes. Think of it as priming your scalp for optimal hair health! 2. Gentle Cleansing: Abbey emphasizes clarifying without stripping. Based on her recommendations, I'm primarily using a silicone-free purifying shampoo to remove residue, sometimes followed by an intensive damage repair shampoo if my hair feels particularly stressed or needs extra care. It's all about getting clean without drying out your precious strands. 3. Deep Conditioning & Repair: This is where the real transformation happens for damaged hair. After shampooing, I apply an intensive damage repair conditioner, focusing heavily on the mid-lengths to ends. About once a week, I swap this for a more intensive treatment. I've been experimenting with a hair filler and bonding inner fiber repair treatment, which feels like it's really working to strengthen my hair from within. And for an extra boost, a collagen protein treatment tube has become my secret weapon to combat thinning and promote strength! 4. Post-Wash Protection & Nourishment: Never skip this step! After gently towel-drying, I use a multi-benefit leave-in spray. This not only helps with detangling but also provides heat protection (a must if you use any styling tools!) and adds essential moisture. Sometimes, I'll finish with a tiny bit of that weightless hydrating oil mist on my ends for extra shine and to combat frizz and flyaways. 5. Gentle Handling & Patience: This method also stresses being super gentle with your hair, especially when wet. No harsh brushing! Always use a wide-tooth comb. And the biggest takeaway? Patience. Hair growth isn't an overnight miracle. I'm committing to this routine for at least a few months to truly see the effects on my hair's thickness, length, and overall health. My goal is not just hair growth, but healthy hair growth. It’s about building a strong foundation. These product types – from the purifying shampoos to the bonding treatments and hydrating oils – all play a vital role in nurturing my hair back to life. I’ll keep you updated on my progress, but fingers crossed, this is the routine that finally gives me the long, healthy hair I've been dreaming of!

Always Read the Care & Washing Instructions on the Yarn Label By Request. Here is a video of my blocking method. This is not my finished blanket. I washed and blocked to have this nicely squared edge asI add the top and bottom stitches to even the zig-zag edges and to add the outer border.
