... Read moreHaving an almost 14-year-old Jack Russell terrier myself, I know firsthand the joys and challenges of caring for a senior dog. One thing I’ve learned is that grooming becomes increasingly important as they age, especially tending to their furry feet which can be prone to matting and discomfort. Regular trims help keep them comfortable and prevent slipping on smooth floors. Older Jack Russells may also slow down and develop new health needs. Gentle but consistent exercise is key to maintaining their mobility, while regular vet visits help catch age-related issues early. I’ve noticed that my senior dog appreciates quieter environments and lots of cuddles, reflecting the deep bond we’ve built over the years. It’s amazing how tolerant and loving they continue to be, even as their energy wanes. Sharing your time, patience, and gentle care can make these later years a wonderful time for both you and your furry friend. If you have a senior Jack Russell or any old dog, focusing on comfort, consistent grooming, and love will enrich your journey together.
