Day 18- Steadfast in the Lord
Hi friends!
Here is day 18 of the Steadfast in the Lord Challenge!
If you have an empty journal/notebook grab that for the month to write out scriptures and prayers. Each day there will be a task to complete that will help you to be focused on the Lord and not on the situation or problems you might be facing. I pray this challenge helps me and you to keep the faith and grow in Christ.

Hey friends! Continuing our 'Steadfast in the Lord' journey, I wanted to share some thoughts that really resonate with me as we dive into Day 18, especially focusing on cultivating humility. It's truly a central theme in our Christian walk, and something I've personally found transformative. When we talk about humility, it’s not about thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less. It's about having a realistic view of who you are in relation to God and others. The scripture from Philippians 2:3-4, which is part of our challenge today, encourages us: 'Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.' This verse really hits home, doesn't it? It calls us to a radical selflessness, a genuine concern for our brothers and sisters in Christ, and even for those outside the faith. For me, a key part of this daily challenge has been the act of reflection. Taking time each day, as suggested by the challenge to define humility or consider how I've shown it—or perhaps not shown it—has been eye-opening. It's not always easy to identify when we act out of pride, but regular reflection, looking up scriptures on humility, and even exploring its synonyms (like modesty, meekness, deference, demureness) and antonyms (like arrogance, pride, vanity, haughtiness) helps to sharpen my understanding. It makes the concept tangible, not just an abstract idea. I often find myself journaling about how to apply this in my daily interactions, whether at home, work, or in my community. How can I reflect God's love more genuinely? Staying steadfast in the Lord, especially when facing life's struggles, is so much easier when we approach things with humility. When we surrender our will and trust in God's plan, we demonstrate a profound humility that allows His strength to shine through our weaknesses. It’s a continuous process of learning to decrease so He, our Lord and Savior, can increase. This is precisely how I've truly felt my faith increasing, even amidst uncertainty. It’s about recognizing that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His wisdom is unending. This 30-day challenge isn't just about ticking boxes; it's about forming habits that draw us closer to Christ. Each day, whether it's reflecting on a specific scripture, like Philippians 2:3-4, or understanding broader biblical concepts like humility, helps us to strengthen our spiritual foundation. It's about dedicating moments to prayer and allowing God's word to shape our hearts and minds. It reminds me that staying focused on the Lord requires intentional effort, and the rewards—a deeper peace, a more profound connection with our Savior, and a truly redemptive perspective on life's challenges—are immeasurable. If you're looking for ways to boost your faith and live more intentionally, I truly recommend incorporating these moments of scripture exploration and heartfelt reflection into your routine. Let's keep encouraging each other on this precious journey to be steadfast!
