Have you ever gone to a gynecologist?

I’m 26 and on my way to my very first gynecologist appointment, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t absolutely terrified. I put this off for years because the idea of it made me anxious, awkward, and overwhelmed. I keep thinking about everything that could happen, everything they might ask, and how vulnerable it feels to finally go. I genuinely want my husband to walk in with me and sit right there because he makes me feel calmer 😭

But as nervous as I am, I’m starting to realize how important this actually is. This isn’t about fear or embarrassment anymore… it’s about preventative care, my health, and taking responsibility for my body as I get older. Avoiding appointments doesn’t protect me, showing up does. I’m still scared, but I’m proud of myself for finally going and choosing long term health over short term anxiety. #cozychats #lemon8contest #AskLemon8 #lemon8challenge

I first went in my early 20s and I’ve been going pretty much every year ever since. It’s important to get checked out. I still get anxious to this day but I know what to expect. It’s gotten better over the years.

Yes, I have. It’s not always the most comfortable appointment, but it’s important for your health, peace of mind, and catching things early. Definitely worth it.
