What's Normal
In our everyday lives, the concept of "normal" is often taken for granted as a fixed standard or behavior that everyone is expected to follow. However, what is considered normal varies widely across cultures, communities, and individual experiences. Reflecting on the phrase "What's Normal" encourages us to question these norms and to appreciate that abnormality or uniqueness can be a source of strength rather than something to be avoided. Personally, I have found that embracing what some might call 'weird' or different has enriched my life and opened opportunities for creativity and self-expression. Being labeled a 'WEIRDO' carries a connotation of standing out, and rather than feeling alienated by it, I’ve realized it highlights my authenticity. Norms can sometimes limit our potential by imposing rigid expectations; breaking away from them allows for innovation and personal growth. Moreover, society benefits when diversity in thoughts, behaviors, and appearances is welcomed. This diversity drives communities towards progress by challenging outdated paradigms and fostering empathy. When we accept and celebrate individuality, we create more inclusive environments where everyone feels valued. This mindset shift—from conforming to typical definitions of normal to embracing uniqueness—has personally helped me build better relationships and discover passions I might have ignored otherwise. It’s liberating to see 'normal' not as a strict rule but as a flexible idea, inspiring us all to live more genuine, fulfilled lives.
